How to choose the right LED lamp
Most gel polish issues are caused by the lamp, not the product itself. The best salon lamps provide even light coverage, cure within the 365–405 nm range, and typically operate between 36W and 48W. Choose a lamp based on curing performance - and replace it about every 18 months for consistent results.

Most nail problems are not caused by the gel polish products. They are caused by the lamp.
Here is what you need to know before you buy one.
Wattage does not tell the whole story
A 72W lamp is not always better than a 48W lamp. What matters is how evenly the light reaches your nails - not how much power the lamp uses.
The best range for salon use is 36W to 48W. Less than that can leave gel undercured. More than that can cause heat spikes.
Wavelength matters
Different gels need different light to cure properly. Most need light between 365 nm and 405 nm. If your lamp does not cover this range, you will see lifting, dull color, or soft structure — even if you do everything else right.
A good lamp covers the full range, not just one point.
Light needs to reach every finger
Even a powerful lamp will give poor results if the light is not spread evenly. Look for:
Enough LEDs to cover the whole hand, including the thumb
A mirrored interior that bounces light into hard-to-reach areas
Good irradiance - around 30 mW/cm² is the sweet spot for professional use
Useful features
Low heat mode - more comfortable for sensitive clients
Timer - consistent curing every time
Motion sensor - the lamp turns on automatically when you place your hand inside
Corded or cordless?
Use a corded lamp for a fixed salon station. Use a cordless lamp if you work mobile or travel for education.
When to replace your lamp
Lamps lose power over time. Replace yours if you notice:
Longer curing times
Dull finish
More lifting than usual
As a general rule, replace the lamp every 18 months.
What to check before you buy
Wavelength range covers 365–405 nm
Power between 36W and 48W
Even LED layout, thumb included
Mirrored interior
Low heat mode and timer
A good lamp makes every manicure more reliable. Choose based on performance, not price or wattage.
